Dinner and A Movie

My parents were in town all week and we did a number of fun things.  For one, we went out to eat a few times.  This is a treat for me because I never go to restaurants when I'm on my own.  My problem is I'm way too cheap.  No matter how hard I try, I cannot justify spending $12 or more on a meal.  I would rather just eat my own wonderful home cooked (if you can call Top Ramen and scrambled eggs cooking) meals.

One delicious restaurant we went to is called Taste Of India, in the Wallingford neighborhood.  I heard this is super Americanized Indian food but even if that's true, one must admit that it's still extra flavorful and delicious Americanized Indian food.  The pan bread is excellent, just make sure you get the plain kind and not the garlic.

But I am no food critic and have honestly never wanted to be one, so I dunno why I went off on that tangent.  Something we did that was way better than any restaurant, was seeing the movie Revolutionary Road.  I loved it and happen to think it's far superior to most other movies out right now.  The content is deep on many levels.  The movie will stick with you and make you think about life for a long while to come.

It is a depressing film and I'm sure many people dislike it because of that, but maybe the reason it's depressing is because it really makes you think.  Remember, art is supposed to make you think!  If you get depressed by a movie, that doesn't mean it was a bad movie, it just means it made you think.  Also, the acting is terrific.  Both leads are masters at what they do but I have to say Leo stole the show.
