R.I.P to One Of the Illest

Of course November 4th was a happy day (for people with good taste in politics anyways), but with the good comes the bad, and something lousy also happened on that historical day.

The world lost a great writer and thinker, of course I'm talkin bout Michael Crichton.  He has been a motivation to me since back in my high school days, when I used to eagerly read his books, lovin every second of it.  For those unfamiliar with dude's legacy, lemme give ya a brief run through.  These are some of my favorites:

Definitely his most famous joint.  If the movie kicks ass, then the book is like a flawless victory without being touched once by your opponent (horrible analogy alert)!

Anyways back to my list.  Here is another classic Crichton novel:

I loved this one.  How do you say crackin in scientific terms (Crichton was a scientist after all)?  The movie aint even fuckin with the book so don't, I repeat, DO NOT let yourself be deterred from reading the book based on the movie.

I won't front, I aint actually read this one.  But it does sound interesting.  It covers Crichton's disbelief in global warming.  I know many people would scoff at that but you gotta admit, Crichton has a cold mind.  He's a scientist, graduated from Harvard and he's a thinker, so this might be worth checking out.

This is my favorite of all his books.  Better than the first joint in my opinion.  I will never forget when I first read this, I was in high school and I probly got Ds on a few tests cuz I was reading this when I should've been studying.  It was worth it though, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and now, years later, I have no idea what tests I fucked up on, so it was definitely a good trade.

Once again, the movie doesn't do the book justice.  I don't know how it's possible to turn such a filthy book into a mediocre-at-best movie, but those guys in Hollywood sure pulled it off.
