Bits Of Wisdom
One thing I do alot is read interviews from rappers and other artists. It's good inspiration and also these cats usually kick hecka knowledge. Here is a good example of a jewel that the legendary producer No I.D dropped in a interview I recently read:

in case ya couldn't put 1+1 together, this is no i.d
Would you rather work on complete albums versus placing a track on a few popular albums?
I got a theory that after Nas' Illmatic it really became popular to believe that a lot of popular producers could make your album good versus before '94 and '93 most of the albums were done by one producer or one core producer. And I'm going back in the history of music to make that statement. Most of the classic albums don't have ten producers or eight producers. They mostly have one producer, two producers or a crew that makes up one unit and operate in one fashion. I think it's definitely destroying our music. They come out and they don't even have a sound anymore. They just have a bunch of sounds from a bunch of different producers. People are tired of hearing different albums sounding the same because they have the same group of songwriters and producers who don't really care what the artist sounds like. They're just doing their own sound. It's the same thing I heard over there but with a new person on it.
Far as I'm concerned this statement is the truth and it do explain why talented rappers will drop albums with like only 4 or 5 hot joints cuz all the songs sound mad different and the whole thing don't make no cohesive sense really.
Now let's compare that to another "gem" I read shortly after from a different rapper (I aint gon say his name cuz I'm not tryin' to put anyone on blast).
What inspired your single, "Drop It Down"?
That song is crazy! That's like the club banger! That's the summer anthem right there. When the girls here it, that's what they're going to want to do, drop it down. The hook is infectious and the lyrics are crazy and the beat is hot. That's going to be the anthem for the summer.
I dunno what my deal been lately, but I just been in the mood for a somethin' deeper than the above quote. This is actually complete opposite from how I was feelin like a month ago when I was in my, "I don't give a fuck I just love pop music" mood.
