You Ready for Episode 4?
Last night I went to this show at Nectar and honestly, the only reason I went was to promote March Badness, which pops off this Thursday.
I know it sounds bad and kinda lame to be going to someone elses show just so I can promote my own show but hey, at least I'm admitting it straight up.
I still showed the artists support! I paid my $10 to get into the show. I aint gonna front I tried to slide it so I could get on the guestlist but nah, that aint work out, so it was the $10 jump off.
I woulda been heated if the show was lame. It woulda basically meant I spent $10 just to pass out some flyers. Luckily that wasn't the case and the show was crackin.
This live band called Big World Breaks was playin' the entire night. They are filthy and also the homie Aaron Walker Loud is nasty on the drums.
I couldn't find a good group pic of theirs, but Jabrille will do, cuz he's super nice on the geeetar, he gets down and even plays his instrument with his teeth sometimes
I watched them for a while and then realized I had to get on my hustle. My flyer hustle that is. My pass handbills out to strangers who are getting their party on hustle that is.
I really didn't feel like doin that. I jus wasn't in the mood. I wanted to kickit. I had friends in there and was all relaxed but, as I said before, the only reason I originally went to the show was to promote. So I knew what had to be done.
And an MCs gotta do what an MCs gotta do.
I got a couple brews in me and it was on. Actually after the first sip it was on. I was suddenly up in everyone's grill. Not in a mean-mugging sorta way, more of a nice, "here take my flyer I'm a cool cat" sorta way.
The coo thing was most everyone was super nice and I got a great response. Well there was this one dude but I won't go into details about him. Save that for another Tales From The Grind episode.
In fact, now I'm pumped cuz I jus realized las night gave me Episode 4 in Tales From The Grind!
