Street Sounds! March 9

Street Sounds
was poppin' once again.  It's nice havin' DJ B-Mello in there mixing cuz it jus gives the show hecka flavor namean?

We aint really been havin' guests on there, which we both really like, probly cuz we get to jus chill, do what we do and play music.  The show is crackin that way cuz we keep it bout the music.

Here are the joints of the week:

Del the Funkee HomosapienRaw Sewage  Del is back after what seems like an eternity.  His new album, The 11th Hour, is finally out.  Damn I remember seein' Del live hecka long ago and he was talkin bout this album droppin.  Then I seen him live like a year later and he was still talking bout it.  Now it's years and years later and the album's finally done.  I aint gonna say it was quite worth the wait (can ya blame me?  We aint talkin about a few months push-back) but it is dope to hear new material from the Funkee one.

A+R- The Awakening  This cat is pretty sick.  I never heard of him before and I aint know why he goes by A+R...maybe it's supposed to be A&R but hey, it was written with the plus sign so that's what I'm goin with.  Dood can spit tho.  Solid track.  Solid with the flow ohhhhhh

and now time for the Street Sounds Weekly Banger!

Talib Kweli- Independent Hustle   What is Talib doin on Webbie's hit single?  He's rippin it and flippin it his own way, cuz that's how independent cats do it!  This song is all about the independent rap hustle.  So ya know a cat like me gotta love it.  He covers all the major independent cats in the industry....DOPE.

It's weird, lately there aint been guest artists comin' in the studio so I just cut these updates hecka short.  CUT we done.

Thanks for reading and remember, you can still stream the show online for two weeks at KEXP.ORG.
