Guess Who I Met...

Yesterday, for those who aint know, there was a show at Neumos.  A really dope hip hop show aka rap show.

Who was the headliner?  That is what yall is wondering, I'm already know.  But I aint gonna tell ya cuz we have to let the plot thicken first.  We gotta let the drama increase and the tension mount like Everest.

So after the show I'm doin' my usual thing, which is be a cheap skate and stand outside the show instead of paying to go see the performance.  To make it even more cheap skateish, the main reason why I was even standing outside the venue was to promote my own show, which we will get to later.

I started choppin it up with this cool cat named Akrish, who I have shared the stage with before.  Ya know how sometimes you get involved in a good conversation, and it jus goes on and on.  Until like an hour or more has passed and you aint even know how the time went by?

Well that is what happened las night, and we was standing outside on the curb, in the cold weather mind you (oooohhhh impressive).

I randomly decided to glance around the corner and who did I see?  To my shock and amazement it was the headliner of the night!

Brother Ali

He was jus chillen there on the sidewalk, finishing up an inteverview for some radio cats.  I hate radio people.

I got pumped cuz, ya know, Brother Ali is a pretty big name in the hip hop game.  He's definitely one of the most popular rappers in the underground circuit.

Yaknow what else was cool about getting to meet Brother Ali out on the street at 1am?  There wasn't nobody else around, so I didn't have to act all cool.  Instead I could jus geek out like the super-fan that I am.

Of course posting that on this blog completely exposes myself but, that's beside the point.

The whole time I was tryin' to think of somethin' good to ask Brother Ali.  But damn, what are you supposed to say when you put on the spot like that.  I wanted to ask him some great question.  A question that would inspire a deep, thought-provoking, game kicking, knowledge kicking answer.

Instead all I could come up with was,

"You're Brother Ali, you're tight man.  I liked you're first album.  What do you listen to?"

Ya that is so deep dog.  I should work for XXL or BET and do interviews all day.  I provoke thoughts.  Hecka thoughts.
