And the Winner Is...
On Thursday night I saw some of the most dopest shit I ever seen.
What I'm talkin about of course is the Red Bull Big Tune Beat Battle Championships. It was las night at Neumos.

For those who don't know what a beat battle is. Lemme break it down. It is real complicated so pay attention:
2 beatmakers get on a stage. They take turns playing their beats. After they play 2 beats each, whoever gets the most cheers from the crowd wins and advances to the next round.
Even if you aint that into hip hop, trust it is way more exciting than it sounds. The sound system is hecka loud, so you can hear every little detail of the beats being played. And the crowd goes nuts when a dope beat is dropped.
Of course ya can't forget the best part, the producers do their dance moves when they play their beats, yaknow just to hype up the crowd and make their beats seem super tight. Pretty much everyone got the theatrics but some do it better than others.
The crazy part is Seattle's own Sabzi took the trophy. He cleaned up with some crazy heaters.
Of course I've heard some skepticism and people say it was a toss up about who really should've won but, to me, it seems he's on a whole nother level musically
Regardless, the point is that Seattle cats is really doin it. There was beatmakers from all over the country at this contest. Big names such as DJ Babu and Marco Polo, and the 206 took the crown.
Dope!
