Street Sounds Update! August 12

Aight time for my weekly Street Sounds update.  I was gone the Sunday before so I was definiteley fiending to get back on the air.   DJ B-Mello held it down no prob tho.

We had a filthy show last Sunday.  There wasn't too many guests....just good convo and dope music, all of which makes for a fresh radio show.

Here is a rundown of the hottest joints:

Royce Da 5'9"- Can't Tell Me Nothin Freestyle  Royce says he's the best MC cuz he can do what everybody else can do and nobody can do what he do.  I thought that was a pretty cocky statement when I saw that but this joint kinda proves that statement true.  Royce got a dead on a Kanye flow.

Ja-Rule f/ Lil Wayne- Uh Oh   Fuck all the haters this is a hot song.  Ja aint as bad as everyone say and Weezy kills it.  But the hardest thing about the song is beat.  The sample just goes on and on, reminds me of that old, old joint that Fabolous had a guest spot on called Superwoman (can't remember who sang that joint tho).

Finally I hate to big up local beef but....whatever.....it's mad entertaining!

Miz (Real Life Click aka RLC) vs. Brainstorm of Dyme Def.

Miz's joint is called Take Em To War and Dyme Def's is called Brainstorm's PSA.

Miz was kinda spittin and the joint was funny at the beginning cuz they play Dyme Def's space intro and clown.

Brainstorm's punches was about a hundred times iller than what Miz was saying, but he was kinda rappin laid back style and I wanted him to go harder.

It's funny cuz I never heard Brain rap so chill before and I wouldn't have expected him to flip like that 4 a dis track.  It was nice flow tho, don't get me wrong.

Final call:  Dyme Def is the victor but not by much.  I say let's go round 2 and see who can really rip who.

Shouts to all the homies who came thru the show, J. Pinder
, D. Black, DJ Nphared and Grynch.  They broke down what's been goin' on in the Sportn' Life camp and also talked about this ill show coming up this Saturday at Chop Suey

Aight that is all 4 now.  Thanx for reading and remember, you can still stream the show online for two weeks at kexp.org.
